Instructor experience
Senior Lecturer for Animation & 3D Animation Pipeline Instructor: 20+ years degree level teaching experience (15+ years as a Senior Lecturer) and training experience covering a range of topics for film making and 3D animation production. Including, acting as industry-reflective curriculum designer*, film producer, and technical support for over 500 student films.
* Designed, built, recorded, a curriculum that contains over 250+ hours of bespoke tutorial videos, live demonstrations, lectures, classroom content, and a 24/7 accessible 3D/animation toolkit website. In 2017 the curriculum was awarded Screenskills accreditation (formerly Skillset) as part of BA (Hons) Computer Animation Arts, Rochester. UK. All content is original and created specifically for classes and video tutorials, including all 3D work contained within the show reel above and video tutorials examples below.
Core subjects include: Organic, hard surface, character, automotive, digital set, and low poly modelling. Texture painting and UV layout. 3D and 2D character rigging. Arnold, Mental Ray, and Maya Software lighting and rendering. Camera, pre-visualisation and character animation. Photogrammetry, dynamic simulation and more. Alongside lectures and classes in film theory, animation, concept and story development, production design, directing for animation, editing, and career skills (see below for a full list).
Software: Autodesk Maya, Substance Painter, Mudbox, Arnold, and Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere.
